School-aged children in Hidden Lake may attend Franklin
County public schools or choose from a number of private
schools in the Raleigh area. Hidden Lake is currently served
by Franklinton Elementary School, Cedar Creek Middle School and
Franklinton High School.

- Franklinton High School’s Business Education Alliance
connects students to the business world, coordinating with local
businesses for tours, job shadowing, career fairs and more.
- The Freshman Academy helps rising ninth graders in their transition
to high school. The Academy’s long-term goal is to increase
the graduation rate among high school students, by providing
a structured atmosphere that emphasizes discipline and establishes
high expectations for its students.

- Founded in 1862, Ravenscroft School is an independent, nonprofit
organization composed of three educational divisions – Lower
School, Middle School and Upper School – serving students

- Typically, 100 percent of graduates pursue their education
beyond the secondary level. In 2006, 152 students took 329 Advanced
Placement (AP) exams with 90 percent of the scores being a "3" or
better. The school offers 27 AP classes in its curriculum. The
mean SAT scores for the Class of 2007 were: 631 (verbal/critical
reading); 636 (math); and 638 (writing) for a total average of
1267.
